situated in good location! situated in good location!
During our check in time app. 2 am the receptionist was very gentle. I liked his behave, very friendly and explanation of overview of the area after asking. The location of the hotel is perfect as it is situated in centre of the city. During booking I found breakfast was included but when I asked them they replied 'not included'. Anyways otherwise it is the best hotel in Kuala Lumpur with this very cheap price. I asked to give me window room and they gave me aswell. But the most funny thing there is a window but you will see the wall of the same building 2 feet away from the glass, blocked all around like a canal from upwards to downwards, like hole for use to throw trash from upstairs. There is no way of ventilation otherthan the air conditioner. Don't know what is the value for this window! May be just to tell 'Room with window'. One more funny thing found in Kuala Lumpur, if you hire a taxi and if you have luggage with you then they will charge RM 2 extra for each luggage excluding fare. The China town is crowded place and all the street shop closes after 1.30 am everyday. Thats all. Thank you for your patience.

Much better than expected Much better than expected
When I initially booked my stay at D'Oriental, I booked in for just 2 nights, with the intention of moving to another hotel afterwards. As I was a little concerned because it was soo much cheaper than other hotels on Expedia, and one of the reviews for it wasn't very good. However I ended up extending my stay with them for another week (my entire stay in KL) because I was impressed with the hotel. The room was basic, but clean, tidy and comfortable. The service was excellent, particularly the chef who got used to me being late for breakfast each day, and so wouldn't start cleaning up until I had had breakfast. One day I was soo late down that she had packed up, but she cooked me up a fresh meal anyway. The location is awesome aswell, it fully immerses you in the atmosphere of chinatown right from your first step out the door. This for me was a really big bonus, admittedly after a week I was a bit tired of the street vendors, but for a short stay it really gets you into the atmosphere and gives the feel of being away on holiday, whereas in a hotel elsewhere, it'd just feel like being in a hotel in any city in the world. Also it's very close to the bus station for travelling to other cities etc, and likewise very close to the monorail for if you want to travel within the city. Bars are closeby too and there are restaurants everywhere!! I'll definitely be returning to D'Oriental when I come back through KL on my return home, and will likewise recommend it to others. Area recommendations Chinatown is interesting and has everything there that you need. Batu Caves is definitely worth a look, likewise there's a canopy walk not too far from Batu Caves in this rainforest reserve place. Genting Highlands are a must see, particularly if you're travelling with children (for me it was good but not quite as amazing since the amusement park rides are mainly for kids) Also check out the bird sanctuary / aivery in the city, it's pretty cool.

Very central location Very central location
It is in the heart of Chinatown so provides a good base for exploring around by walking. However if you have heavy luggage, arriving between 2pm-11pm could be a problem as the street closes to vehicles and there's a heavy pedestrian traffic. The room was somewhat small, but clean. The A/C did not perform well, however since it wasn't too hot this did wasn't a problem. The water pressure in the showers was not very good.

Nice Hotel Nice Hotel
My husband and I were very happy with the location of this Hotel as it had Night Markets to do shopping or just looking around, and provided reasonably priced places to eat within walking distance of Hotel. We had a problem with a toilet not flushing when we arrived and they sent a Handyman to fix it, but he didn't fix it properly, so they changed rooms for us. We were quite satisfied with the second room, although the air conditioner didn't work as cool as the original room, but it was no problem for us. We were close to visit Central Market and also the train station and the Monorail, which was handy. Our breakfasts there had nice food and plenty of it and all was very clean and the staff were most helpful for any questions we asked. If I ever visit KL again I would most definitely stay there as my husband and I thought it was good value for money. Overall I would reccomend this Hotel.
